PAM NCDs Visualization User Guide
Overview
This user guide provides basic information for using PAM NCDs Visualization.
PAM NCDs Visualization is a web-based and interactive tool aimed to facilitate exploration and analysis of premature avertable mortality from NCDs and their rates of change over time estimates, and sharing findings, results, and stories.
It comprises seven visualizations allowing user to explore and interact with the data from multiple angles:
- PAM NCDs map shows the geographic distribution of PAM NCDs across 195 countries.
- PAM NCDs by country shows PAM NCDs and 95% uncertainty interval by country using a dotplot chart.
- PAM NCDs time-series shows the trends of PAM NCDs by region and/or country from 1990 to 2017.
- AAPC map shows the geographic distribution of the average (mean) annual percentage change for PAM NCDs for selected period of time.
- AAPC and progress assessment shows the average (mean) annual percentage change for PAM NCDs by country, color-coded by progress towards target.
- PAM NCDs searchable table allows to select specific estimates of PAM NCDs and download the data.
- AAPC searchable table allows to select specific estimates of the average (mean) annual percentage change for PAM NCDs and download the data.

Navigating through the visualizations
To navigate though the visualizations of the tool, use the navigation tabs located at the top-left side of the visualizationon. Each tab will show specific data as briefly described above.

Interactions with the tool
Each visualization includes a set of selectors and filters located beneath the title of the visualization. Use those filters to select the data to show in the visualization.
Hovering the cursor over any graphic object (eg, a dot, a line, or a bar chart, a country from a map, a figure from a table) in the data view area will show detailed infrmation related to that specific object
There is a tool bar located at the bottom-left side of the visualization with the following functions:
- Undo undo the latest action
- Redo re-apply the latest action
- Revert revert all actions that impacted the view, taking you to the original view of the data
- Refresh forces the visualization to read the data source
- Pause stops the queries to the data source. This is useful when you want to make several changes using selectors or filters avoiding immediate quary to the data source. When you click on Pause, changes in filters will not affect the data view untill you click on Pause again
Data download
You are able to download data from any of the visualization following these steps:
1.- Click on the data view area (map, chart or table) with data you want to download
2.- Click on the button Download, from the tool bar, located at the bottom-righ side of the visualization
3.- The Download menu will display on the screen, and select option Data to download summary or full data, or select Crosstab to download summary data in csv format.
